Schaefer Homes; a premier San Antonio homebuilder for over 55 years has always
been a proud supporter of our local communities.

Schaefer Homes was the first home builder to sponsor a scholarship program for the
students of East Central High School.

Schaefer Homes and Next Productiions worked together to launch the " Teen Dream
Makeover Room Contest" open to all East Central High School students in good
scholastic standing . The teen contestants were required to submit a design layout
board and budget for the makeover of a room in the Schaefer model home -located at
6102 Still Meadow in Foster Meadows off Highway 87. A sample board and outline of
the requirements was presented to the students in an open forum to answer any
questions and encourage the students to be creative and design a room of their
dreams.
A panel of 7 judges reviewed the design boards with careful consideration to determine
which one would be chosen for the model home.

And the "winner" was Adrianne Lopez, a junior at East Central High School . Adrianne
had a clear vision of her teen dream room which she was now able to create, but first
she had to assemble her dream team of 3 classmates to assist her in the makeover -
Jake Escobar, Adria Johnson and Allison Doolittle.
Schaefer Homes gave Adrianne a budget of $1500.00 to create her vision. This was no
simple undertaking, first the room in the Schaefer model home had to be disassembled.
Then the fun began.... the shopping to find the right furniture, art, bedding, accessories,
window treatment, and paint all within the set budget. Adrianne and her dream team
under the supervision of Next Productions took this task very seriously, shopping at
Targets, Home Depot, Walmart and Goodwill to find all her design elements.
After all the shopping was complete Adrianne and her dream team began the process of
implementing her design decisions - painting walls, hanging art, assembling and
arranging furniture, and installing window treatment all as a team.

The entire makeover was filmed and the final reveal was amazing highliting the
experience of teamwork and dedication to create Adriannes vision.
