Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport. Today we’re road raging with the Angry Driver, a collaboration between Boss and JHS Pedals. The Angry Driver combines two pedals under one roof, one modern classic in the form of JHS’s Angry Charlie, and one certified classic in the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver. The Angry Driver is able to house both circuits simultaneously with a row of three dual knobs that correspond to each effect. The magic of the Angry Driver lies in the fourth knob, which is a multi-mode switch that controls the routing of both circuits. With this single knob, you can order each effect in every way you can imagine. Parallel mode splits the signal into two paths, and sends both paths into both circuits for a super-fat lead tone that fills the entire sonic spectrum. Two different modes let you run one circuit into the other in both ways, so you can run the Blues Driver into the Angry Charlie or vice-versa for a wide palette of tones. The three additional modes let you select either effect individually or switch between the two. The Remote jack allows even more functionality, letting you connect a footswitch that offers a different effect in each mode. And just like all Boss pedals, the Angry Driver is built in a tough enclosure that’s designed for a lifetime of use.
