Immersive Engineering is more of a realistic industrial mod, hence the name.

Instead of sticking floating cable or pipes all around you can use real wiring suspended by connectors. Or instead of a machine block magically making crafts, watch a multiblock structure do the work in front of your eyes to see the outcome.

With this mod you can do anything from mining to power creation to processing with large multiblock structures!

You can also take things further with Immersive Petroleum which introduces Oil production!
