The all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton lands in Australia with a big task ahead of it.

Long revered as the underdog of its class, in which it has traditionally been the country’s third most popular ute behind the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger, the Triton looks to continue its legacy as a value-focussed workhorse but this time with higher pricing, a more powerful new twin-turbo diesel, class-leading payload and towing capability and a roomier, more upmarket interior.

However, the first new Mitsubishi Triton since 2015 faces stiff competition – not only from established rivals, but a slew of forthcoming Chinese utes.
