We do a deep dive on the Toyota Bz4x which is the first-ish electric car from Toyota in the modern times. Unfortunately things aren't so well with this car.

Electric cars can work and there's many examples that do work. The BZ4X isn't one of those examples. Everything that is good about the BZ4X is what makes any other Toyota model good. But the electric system design and implementation really leaves a lot of room for improvement.

Toyota is a company that successfully led the charge for Hybrids and PHEVs but in the electric car world, this car leaves a lot to be desired. The electric system is truly rudimentary and experimental and feels like an incomplete product.

Toyota you can do much better than this, but the real question is Do they want to?
