Rise of the Ronin is an action RPG set in 19th century Japan, during the Bakumatsu period, a time of great political and social turmoil as the country is forced to open up to the West after centuries of isolation. The game follows the journey of a lone warrior, or "ronin," as he navigates the complex web of factions and alliances vying for control of the nation.

The game features an open world with three major cities: Yokohama, Kyoto, and Edo, as well as a vast countryside. Players will have access to a variety of weapons, including traditional Japanese swords and spears, as well as firearms introduced by Western powers. Combat is fast-paced and challenging, with an emphasis on skill and strategy.

Rise of the Ronin is being developed by Koei Tecmo Games and Team NINJA, the same studio behind the critically acclaimed Nioh series. The game is set to release on March 22, 2024, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
