The Mosque was built between 1122 and 1125 during the time of the Fatimids. Its facade is vertically divided into three parts, namely the risalit protruding the main portal in the middle and the two side facades. All three parts are equipped with small niches, inscriptions and arabesques.
In the medallion of the tympanon above the main entrance, the names Muhammad and Ali are highlighted in the center, marking Ali as the legitimate successor to Muhammad.
