#1960s #pop #vinylstory

Coming up, you could make a very strong argument that in less than 6 months, America’s foremost musical genius created the greatest album in history and then the greatest single in history. Hearing the Beatles Rubber Soul, Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys set out to create the greatest album of all time and after that brian set his sights on engineering the perfect pocket symphony, arguably the most magical 3 and half minutes ever played on radio, it broke the industry, it blew the Beatles and everyone else away and it added more mystique to these purveyors of the California dream. Up next I interview the genius himself about the magical song: as well as other members of the classic lineup and we unbox the Beach Boys 60th Anniversary Sounds of Summer Expanded Edition Box Set. From the early days of Surfin USA through the Smile and beyond. It’s the story of America’s most iconic sonic surfers next on professor of rock

Hey music junkies, Professor of Rock, always here to celebrate the greatest artists and the greatest songs of all time. Make sure to subscribe to this channel so you be a part of interviews with legends. Today is a very special episode of POR because we have some insight on one of the greatest songs of all time, Good Vibrations... the King of California, one of our last living musical geniuses Brian Wilson

For sixty years The Beach Boys have been one of the most enduring bands in the American music history. Founded in Hawthorne, California in 1961, the original lineup consisted of teenage Wilson brothers: Brian, Carl, and Dennis, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. From 1962-1963 they were joined by David Marks and in 1965 Bruce Johnston joined the band as Brian retired from touring. Together this happy-go-lucky group of stripe-shirted, clean-cut young men created a sound and image so iconic that it’s hard to imagine a time when it didn’t exist.

One of the most compelling storylines in American music history, the Beach Boys saga feeds heavily into the California Myth... Gaining momentum in the early 1960s, this Pacific paradise daydream sold the golden state as a perpetual beachfront party... Surfers, hot-rodders and beach-bums all congregating on sandy shores, living it up in endless summer bliss. The Beach Boys were the foremost sonic ambassadors for this wonderfully idyllic dream. At the time surfing was a new fad, and one that most landlocked Americans couldn’t experience for themselves. So, America’s rising generation tuned in to the Beach Boys’ sunshine pop to surf vicariously. What they got was a feel-good fantasy, a metaphor for freedom and adventure that everyone wanted to be a part of.
