After originally signing two 10-day contracts, the Phoenix Suns (46-32) officially signed Isaiah Thomas to a deal for the remained of the season this morning.

Thomas met with the media right after and discussed what it means to sign the deal, staying ready, what he’s hoping to gain from the experience, the fan reception, strengths and weaknesses of the Suns, what he’s proven, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker’s evolution, his activity on the bench and more.

The 12-year veteran has only played in garbage time for the Suns, averaging 1.3 points on 33.3% shooting in 3.5 minutes across four appearances for Phoenix. However, he has been highly praised for the activity he brings on the bench.

This is the second time Thomas has had a 10-day contract lead a to rest-of-season deal, the first coming with the Charlotte Hornets at the end of the 2021-22 season (the last time IT was in the league before this season).

The Suns host the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at 7 p.m. MST. With Phoenix tied for sixth place in the Western Conference, they need every win they can get the rest of the season.
