The 40-60 rule is a defining characteristic of high-level PvP gameplay in Destiny 2. The rule is an excellent foundation for good positioning habits and proper usage of cover; it will help you take less damage, win more 1v1 engagements, and ultimately be a more powerful Crucible player. In some ways, learning how to properly use cover is just as important as learning how to accurately land your shots. In my opinion, positioning and ineffective usage of cover is the weakest point in most Destiny 2 players' gameplay, so hopefully this video can help you take your PvP game to the next level. If you take the time to learn how to master the 40/60 rule you'll start noticing yourself winning considerably more 1v1s even when your aim isn’t perfect, and you’ll be better equipping yourself to come out on top when facing multiple opponents in 1v2, 1v3, and 1vX situations.
