Making a Marvel movie is a physical feat - one that every single actor who has done a Spider-Man movie knows well. We’re talking about the OG films with Tobey Maguire in the early 2000s, Andrew Garfield’s time as the Amazing Spider-Man, and of course, our current Spidey Crew.
Turns out some of the earliest issues have continued on throughout the franchise. Two different Spider-Man actors actually really struggled with accidentally getting waterboarded inside their Spider-Man mask! Willem Dafoe has always kept whoever is playing Spider-Man on their toes - two of the actors suffered some injuries after facing the Green Goblin in their respective films.
Tom Holland might be young and spry, but that doesn’t mean he’s invincible. In fact, production on Far From Home had to stop completely for a while so the actor could recover from an on-set injury.
We can't ignore the fact that the Marvel superhero costumes aren’t the most comfortable around, but we never would have guessed which part of the suit left Holland with some nasty cuts! The whole not being able to see super well through the mask definitely isn’t a help either.
Now usually when an actor has an injury, they’ll hold off on how hard they work and what stunts they agree to do - but not one actor in No Way Home - this person literally had a dislocated shoulder and kept on working! Oh, and we can’t forget the hardships Spider-Man has gone through doing other Marvel films! Captain America: Civil War made for a pretty memorable first Marvel movie for Tom Holland, but not necessarily for the best reason!
There was a ton of blood sweat and tears no doubt, but in the end, it was all worth it to bring these amazing movies to our screen.
