Its 1999 and the most Next Gen game just hit ... you need Intel III and 128mb of ram to play (when normal people with normal PCs at that had a 486Dx4 100Mhz with 16Mb or 8mb of ram and a Gpu that had 1Mb of ram)... graphics so unreal none ever thought something like that could be possible ... this game was Crysis of 1999 ... got a Pentium II and 32Mb just to play it ...

25 years later ... The most Next Gen 70h Sand Box Game just hit ... on Unreal 4 with LOD plugins... 2h are just pain of Consolitis Corridors ... but when it opens, it opens ... so ... 70h ... ey ... ey ... we got like 28h done of those 70h ... is this game padded Yes ... imagine you have to do stupid padding Ratchet and Clank Jumping missions just to get EXP for skills to progress the main game ... AND YOU HAVE TO DO THEM ALL ... jezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz , even Outcast 1 was not so anal like this game ... yeah , you can fly , the world is massive ... GTAV levels massive , all streaming seamless ... made on Unreal 4 ... so a SSD is a must ...

Outcast 1 was good , since it had a organic world ... you talked to people that gave you objectives , but since the world was "Finite' just by exploring you could do those , from destroying outposts that hindered you in some quest... to help farmers with local fauna\aggressors , to get some berries or crystals ... nothing hindered your Exploration , only your gaming skill set of jumping and shooting in a effective way ...
Here, the game became a Console RPG... aka Forced PADDED Skill points that Hinder Your Exploration ( need that skill!!!!!!!!!! to do this FORCED Quest!!!!!!!!!!!!), Forced outposts clearing to Get a Mod for your gun\rifle so you can shoot better!!!!!!!!!! , Forced Story Corridors!!!!!!!! ...

Some now will be like : "You must be insane , Nothing here is FORCED ON YOU!" .

Really ? To do Basic quests, you need skills and special Mods to progress . Skills so you can Fly\Jump higher\Hover . Even a Simple Shield Duck, is a Skill FOR JUST 300 BLUE CRYSTALS THAT YOU HAVE TO DO 9 missions to get ... but to get that, you have to UNLOCK OTHER SKILLS FROM THIS SKILL TREE . Oh , but you say you don't need to do those Temple Runs that need all Skills . Later on , when you get to PALANA , they force on you to get those 4 Elemental Totems ... forcing you to GRIND THOSE DERPY fucking JUMP SUB QUESTS , then just THINK FOR A SECOND ... and fixed its DESIGN LOGIC with : Hey Humans Harvest ENERGY FROM THIS WORLD . The World of Adelfa is Organic and everything here is a gigantic living organism . This Forced Harvesting made the Planet produce GORK that Infects all . Let's make it so , BY SHOOTING THIS INFECTION AND HELPING THE PLANET HEAL... YOU GET EXP POINTS ... like BASIC Shooting Infected Animals\Plants\Humans\Environment , CLEANING GORK ... MAKE IT FUN , MAKE IT NOT FEEL LIKE A GRIND... NOPE , Lets do JUMP PUZZLES INSTEAD ...

Talk about F uP game design ...

Why Outcast 1 was good : Nothing was Forced on you , the game flowed ... you explored and had fun
Why Outcast 2 is a 2/10 : All is forced on you ... since we have put that Abilities PADDING Wall Here .

By the end of the day , its not about shiny graphics ...but the game design of it . And here its a mix bag of Bad design made to PAD THIS 5-7 hour game to be 70h GRINDING OF FUCKING BLUE CRYSTALS TO GET A FUCKING SKILL SO YOU CAN PROGRESS IN THE STORY ...

So , what else can be said ... Keyboard and mouse controls are fucked ... you need a pad to play , since some moves cannot be made on a keyboard without breaking a finger ...
