We're tackling a worn-out planetary carrier from a Caterpillar 740 Articulated haul truck's diff final drive. The challenge? The damaged gear thrust faces are located within a hard-to-reach location on the carrier housing, making them difficult to repair with conventional tools. So that means we need to make a custom boring bar specifically designed to access those tricky areas with our milling and facing head. In this video, we'll walk you through the entire process, from machining the boring bar on the lathe to the precise milling work required on the planetary carrier itself!

In this video we are using:
- Hafco TM-1740G Centre Lathe
- Hafco BM-63VE Milling machine
