James Webb Telescope Detecting Alien Technology Signatures from Across the Milky Way Highly Likely. The James Webb Telescope has done a terrific job so far.
Not only that, its observations are also beginning to change the way we see the universe shortly after the big bang.
And while it scours the edge of the universe, there is another goal of the telescope–a secondary one– which for us, is also a very big deal: and that is, to study the atmospheres of exoplanets, to search for gasses created by living organisms called biosignatures, and chemicals produced by sophisticated alien societies, known as technosignatures.
Now, scientists have used the telescope data to simulate its observation of the Earth from far away to find out if it can detect technosignatures.
