After a disastrous few years going winless in CART with an inhouse Penske Chassis, Mercedes Ilmor Engine and Goodyear Tires, starting in 2000 Team Penske made the bold move to the dominant Reynard/Honda/Firestone combination... but not without trying to find the classic "unfair advantage". Penske modified the basic Reynard chassis so much virtually nothing but the tub was stock, the car was quickly dubbed as the "Renske". Helio Castroneves won his very first IndyCar race in this car at the 2000 Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle.
