This historic old rural schoolhouse was built in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s and served as the main school for the town. A much more rudimental basic one story school house stood in its place for many years prior until it was torn down and the wood reused for this larger schoolhouse shown in the video. This building was in use until the early 1960’s when a much more modern school for the area was built and this one left vacant. For a couple decades it served as a town meeting hall until being forgotten totally in the 1980’s-1990’s. Now it’s mostly just used for storage and a place for stray cats to take shelter from the rain. Can see one run inside the school at the very start. Loved this beautiful unique old place, the upstairs of the school house and its unique two staircase design was incredible. So glad could document this old place. Thanks for watching.
