A while back I did a video showing the Siberian Log Fire Lay. It's a great fire lay that requires little maintenance and easily burns all night long but it does require you to get out of your warm sleeping bag to move the logs around a bit. In this video I'm experimenting with another self feeding fire, the stacked log or long log fire. After a bit of fiddling with it to get the entire length burning, I was very impressed with how well it burned and for how long. This long fire burned for over 16 hours from the time I first lite it. This would be a great all night fire for winter camping or cold weather survival. Paired with a lean-to survival shelter or tarp, it would be a great, low maintenance warming fire.
