Highly specialized campus network for precise positioning on construction sites.
The 5G Nomadic Node from Fraunhofer FOKUS comprises robust, transportable server cases that contain the hardware and software to set up a 5G campus network at short notice − even with satellite connectivity if required. The software-based Open5GCore core network ensures a flexible network tailored to the application. The 5G Nomadic Node supports radio systems from several providers, including the Open RAN radio systems from CampusOS project partners Fraunhofer HHI and Node-H. Project partner Topcon Deutschland Positioning integrated the GNSS sensor technology and the connection to the construction machines.
