I replaced a non functional light niche-less pool light with this Eapmic surface mount one that I bought on Amazon.

This replaced an S R Smith PT-6001 / PT-6002 Fiber to LED conversion kit with Mod-Lite, which itself was a replacement for a Fiberstars fiber optic illuminator. I looked into the Treo and Kelo lights but the problem I had was my pool only had one of these small lights. I knew that a 5W or 7W light wouldn't be sufficient.

So, the light I put in is an EAPMIC LED pool light with remote. Because it's surface mount on the wall I could use a properly sized light for the pool, but still run the cable through the existing conduit, pulling the cable through using the existing cable that was already in there.

One annoying thing is that this light came with only 6 feet of cable. So I had to splice it with the original cable. I used heat shrink connectors and then waterproof heat shrink, then finally wrapped it in rubber tape. It's waterproof but was some extra work. But, the light itself was only $50. Pool lights from the usual pool manufacturers cost hundreds, sometimes thousands.

This particular light is 25W, but they also make other ones: 18W, 36W, 45W, 54W.
