Michael D Higgins was showing the US president the garden at his official residence when they encountered Misneach, one of the Irish president's dogs.

Misneach immediately began barking as Joe Biden approached, causing him to retreat. Higgins later saw the dog playing in the garden and tried to take him inside, but Misneach snuck back out again.
