The show is well-remembered for its theme music, written by Michael and Patty Silversher and was originally performed by Joseph Williams from the band Toto!

Since being a little kid I always loved the Gummi Bears, so I had to have a go at recreating the theme song. It's absolute classic Disney from a time when they had the best people writing them the best theme songs. Absolute peak!
This was great fun to try and recreate. It took some effort to figure out all of the parts as I was only able to find low quality recordings to listen to as reference but I think it came out sounding great. I used BBC orchestra core VST heavily for this (check out Spitfire Labs for other great free VST instruments). Once I recorded the bass line over the drums I thought it didn't sound right so I added basses and a synth bass to fatten up the sound. The sound effects were quite a pain in the arse to find. I ended up managing to find a load of old cartoon sound effects on the internet archive, but I still ended up having to make my way through listening to hundreds of sound effects to find the right ones... One sound I just couldn't find was the ham over the head "whack" sound effect at about 30 seconds in. I ended up making that myself out of Yoshi sounds from Super Mario World, sounds ok to me, but I'll let you decide.
I wanted to include a bit of a 'behind the scenes' to the making of this one as I think the work involved could be interesting to other people like myself, but I can't figure out how to capture audio whilst recording video on my screen. I may in the future post some making of content of the music I made for some of these videos.
