In this video, I'll be discussing a series of weird coincidences and other things that are off about the Lynels, which seem to link them to the Zonai. Somewhat. Loosely.

Production of this theory was challenging, as things seemed to go wrong at every step of the way. Thusly, there are some thoughts that didn't quite make it into the script but I'd like to express regardless. So here we go!

While Lynels being specifically Zonai is up for debate, there is no doubt in my mind that they have to have had a civilization at some point. Between their equipment and high intelligence, there is no way that they didn't. Zonai just happens to be the only culture that we know existed in Hyrule and is currently missing with no known reason for their disappearance - which, along with all the other points made within the video, creates the link between them.

Similarly to Lynels, Lizalfos use metal weapons which they have made themselves. The key difference is that Lizal weapons are still far more primitive than those of Lynels and in many cases they do look like they were put together from metal scraps, scavanged from Hylians. While noticably smarter than Bokoblins and Moblins, Lizalfos don't reach Lynel levels of intelligence, either.

It is notable that there is only one Lynel living in Faron and even this one is located on the edge of the region. They also seem to prefer hilly to mountainous areas rather than wide open fields, which is weird for a creature who is half horse.

The gatehouse Lynels confirm that Lynels who openly side with Ganon and are willing to fight for him are in the minority.

There may or may not be a follow up video covering these points. We shall see.
