Daniel Alfonso, one of the great batá performers in Cuba, was my teacher for a short period of time. Mr. Alfonso passed away so unexpectedly. Even though my documentary, Keepers of the Flame, focuses on the rumba tradition, it is people like Daniel that the to whom the documentary is dedicated. Please contribute to this very worthy cause.
