Fortune Senior Editor Shawn Tully recaps the disastrous Boeing Company incidents where a door panel blew off of a 737 Max plane, one from Lion Air Flight 610 on October 29, 2018, and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 on March 10, 2019, leading crashes that killed 346 people. These incidents, along with Dave Calhoun stepping down as CEO, led to the downfall of the company that forced them to shake up their leadership and C-Suite for the future.

Shawn explains that after analyzing the company's leadership, he determines that three out of four CEOs who had run Boeing were veterans of General Electric. A lot of the issues that GE had were that they acquired CEOs who were not down on the factory floor, listening to the workers who were putting in the bolts and running the whole production process, which ultimately led to faulty parts malfunctioning.
