About a year ago, I opened a Facebook account for the exclusive purpose of using the Marketplace. I used it regularly through the Spring and Summer. The equipment I'm interested in takes a lull during the winter. While I do still occasionally look through the listings, I hadn't purchased anything from it in a few months.

As of a couple weeks ago, I have lost access to Marketplace with no explanation as to why and no way to refute it. The "support" pages, which are a total abomination, offer a small quantity of Q & A type blurbs regarding the product, including links at the bottom which lead to other pages, which ultimately direct you back to the original one. It's an endless cycle with no solution.

There is absolutely no way to contact any kind of customer service representative for Facebook that I can find unless it directly relates to the sale of an item or a specific transaction with a specific user, both of which are inapplicable to me as I have not sold anything on there. How a handful of prebaked problems and solutions are supposed to encompass all trouble an end user may encounter with the product to such a thorough degree that no customer service is needed is beyond me.

This is not an isolated problem -- there are countless complaints about this issue that can be found through a simple Google search. Several people I know have also had this happen within the last month.

Since this is an unsolvable problem that Facebook and/or Meta appear to have not a single iota of concern for, the only option I'm provided with is to stop using the product. I fail to see how that's a reasonable business model or satisfactory answer to any consumer, but that's what I've been presented with. It's unfortunate because Facebook Marketplace is the primary platform for purchasing larger used items locally. I had great success with it, while it worked.
