This Cub Cadet 1810 is a loud lawnmower. In this video, I am testing out all of my tricks to make this loud old garden tractor quieter. First, I try a double muffler, in series to see if that will quiet things down. Next, I used some sound deadener (kilmat), which is similar to dynamat. Aside from quieting any rattles, this may reduce any resonating that would occur from the metal hood vibrating. Finally, I tried some actual sound insulation under the hood. The results of my attempts to reduce the sound volume of this lawnmower might surprise you! This tractor has a Kohler Magnum 18 Engine and will be similar to a Cub Cadet 1811 or 1812. This is very similar to the Kohler KT17 that is used in the Cub Cadet 782 and 682. is your garden tractor too loud?
