To pass the road test, you must meet several requirements, provide the necessary documentation, schedule an appointment in advance, and be familiar with the driving maneuvers that will be tested on the driving test.

The exam is all about showing the examiner that you’re a safe driver. Each state’s road test is graded differently, but generally, you’re allowed to make a few non-critical mistakes without failing. However, if you make a critical mistake, such as failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, you will immediately fail the driving test.

In this video, driving instructor Jacqueline goes through what’s happening and what you should expect at the driving test.

You’ll learn how to do a pre-driving check:

-Left turn signal
-Right turn signal
-Hazard lights
-Honk your horn
-Lights
-Windshield wipers
-Window defroster
-Footbrake
-Emergency brake

Also, you’ll learn what’s being tested on the driving test:

-Follow the rules of the road
-Traffic scanning
-Be prepared to yield if you have to
-Be prepared to go when it’s your turn
-Keep your speed calibrated
-Use good steering control
-Use good lane positioning
-Make safe left & right turns
-Clear every intersection safely
-Park parallel to the curb
-Reverse parallel to the curb
