Yak VS Bull

Distinguished by handlebar horns and long hair, this high-altitude bovine cousin of the cow grazes across the grasslands of the Tibetan Plateau. With three times the lung capacity of typical cows, yaks take in stride the thin air, rugged terrain, and harsh weather of Tibet—with frigid winter temperatures that can dip below zero—and have subsisted for thousands of years on a meager diet of grasses and sedges. The yak in this video goes head-to-head with a bull, and the fight is vicious and even. Though the yak is mighty, it isn’t invincible.

As recently as half a century ago, a million or so wild yaks roamed the Tibetan Plateau. Today the International Union for Conservation of Nature puts the global population at under 10,000 wild yaks—in other words, officially vulnerable to extinction—due to poaching, habitat loss, and interbreeding. In this video, the yak manages to push the bull away, forcing the animal to abandon the challenge and run away. Historically, yaks were essential to the survival of the people of the Tibetan Plateau, much like bison were to American Indians.

It is believed that ancient Qiang herdsmen domesticated yaks some 10,000 years ago. Sturdy and sure of foot, these ultimate pack animals can cross high mountain passes carrying heavy loads of up to 150 pounds and are sometimes called the “boats of the plateau.” In this video, two yaks decide to settle their conflict in the middle of a road, where cars must stop and wait, and watch, while the two animals settle their differences. This huge yak puts on his formal attire for this special event when he goes head-to-head with a big bull.

Jaguar VS. Jaguar

Two male Jaguars have a proper go at each other in this video. It is not often you get to see the big boys fight this way, but when you do, you must stay back! These animals are powerful and dangerous, so you don't want to be getting in the middle of such a fight. When the big boys bump into each other, intentionally or not, there are always sparks! These two large male Jaguars met each other on a small beach and decided to discuss their differences. Explosive is probably the best word to describe this encounter.

These guys are seriously powerful, and built to hunt, so they can do real damage to each other. One of the males does look more submissive in his approach and is probably grateful to get away without too many injuries. Well, this is a little awkward. We all know Jaguars as solitary animals, except for mating, fighting, and cubs, but what happens when two Jaguars bump into each other unexpectedly? In this video, a male and a female cross paths, and it leads to a pretty cool encounter.

Straight away, the female, while standing her ground, is submissive, lying down and exposing her belly. The male, after sussing out the situation, realizes there is nothing to gain, and after enjoying her company for a short while, slowly moves off. These two females take their fight on a tree branch and into the foliage, where the cats fight and scratch each other viciously until one of the felines abandons the fight.
