As hard as it is to believe, Newport Beach, California, one of the most affluent and beautiful cities in America has a homelessness problem. On December 21, 2022 we were driving down Avocado Avenue, a street known for a high concentration of medical buildings and the offices of the best doctors in the world, along the way we were surprised to see a homeless encampment. Nearby cities like Costa Mesa and Fountain Valley had the same problem so we reached out to current and former politicians we know in Newport Beach hoping to find out if they were aware of this problem. The good news is they are aware of the problem, the bad news is it sounds like they have no permanent solutions. We decided to make a short cell phone video.
