James Cameron is alive and well!? #avatar2 #avatarthewayofwater

Here are some things I did not get to mention in my review proper:

I do actually think this movie is a little better than the first, and the story is a bit more interesting than the first. Jake Sully and Ney'tiri are not the MOST interesting of characters (definitely not enough to fuel a whole series) but including the children makes for more interesting dynamics and a fresh new start.

The villain is back and, this time, he's actually quite interesting!

It was implied in my review, but the visual effects is amazing. Definitely winning that Oscar.

Lots of water.

I didn't really notice the frame-rate stuff, but I also watched the movie in 3D... I'm not really good with 3D and got a headache for the full rest of the day so I might have been a little distracted. I wonder if I'd like this movie better in 2D?

[TLDR] "Avatar: The Way of Water" excels in all the things the original did so well - particularly in the world building and the effects - and improves (slightly) on the things that were lacking. The magic is still here! [8/10]
