The house has been weaved around an existing tree in the farmland of 19 acres. The architects wanted the house to merge with the natural setting rather than being the dominant characteristic overpowering it’s surroundings. It is designed around a courtyard that is visually connected from all internal areas without losing the linearity of the space.

Compressed Stabilized earth blocks made from clay of the farmland, ergonomically designed sill levels, multi-functional non-rigid furniture layouts, human-scale-relatability, materiality are the factors that make the house sustainable and enhance the user experience.

Principal Architect Kinnera Varma narrates the design concept of this eco-friendly house in Aroor, Telangana.
