Yes, the metal bits are better than sandpaper, mostly because they last longer before needing to replace them. My hollow drum metal bit has lasted me over 4 years of fairly regular use. The DiamaGroove has a decades-long warranty. Sandpaper and metal bits “work” just about the same. But longevity wins me over with the metal bits!
