Senator John Fetterman criticised US Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday after she refused to rule out “consequences” for Israel’s invasion of Rafah.

Fetterman posted to X to address his perspective on Israel’s invasion and defended the country's continued attack on Hamas.

“Hard disagree. Israel has the right to prosecute Hamas to surrender or to be eliminated,” Fetterman wrote.

“Hamas owns every innocent death for their cowardice hiding behind Palestinian lives.”

Kamala Harris’ comments came during an interview with ABC News on Sunday, where she refused to rule out “consequences” against Israel if they launch their ground assault on Rafah.

“We're going to take it one step at a time, but we've been very clear in terms of our perspective on whether or not [an invasion] should happen,” she said.
