Fighting games are a unique form of competition, that don't work like many other games out there. It's all about making decisions and understanding what your opponent is trying to do. Luckily for us, Game Theory is about exactly this, and I think we can use that to our advantage. Whether your game is Street Fighter, Guilty Gear, or Tekken, or even Chess this is how you improve as a competitor in general, not just a player.
