Hi Guys. Many times for doing small parts you will want to cut down the stock. Most use the China horizontal band saw and they generally work well but they are slow in Aluminum and mine has always broken the blades fairly fast. The Evolution saw is great but you will be in almost $500 with a blade for them. For light hobby use if your 10" chop saw is fairly strong and you are careful not to feed too hard this works well. I would recommend around 2" X 2" stock for smooth cutting but with a bit of care larger stock will cut. Round stock can be quite dangerous without a good clamping system and you can't clamp well on this so don't to it. I have done at least 50 cuts with this blade and it has never had a problem. I'm sure I could break the casting of the saw if I push it hard and it hops and grabs. A little lube goes a long way for smother cuts. All oils will smoke like crazy. Water with a little soap is better.
