America’s Homestead Act gave FREE land to people who could (1) put a house on it & (2) farm it. This is a 3 minute quick history of the whole idea.
Homesteading is a trendy word right now. The origins of it are straight from history. This is a quick highlight reel of what the American Homestead Act of 1862 was & what it meant for the people who came West. We found that a lot of our viewers were unfamiliar with this moment in American history & we thought a quick primer of the Homestead Act would be helpful for all of us.
