During his 20-year-run leading The Public Theater in New York, George C. Wolfe remained a prolific writer and director on stage. When he left that role in the early 2000s, he took on film directing. Rustin is his 6th feature behind the camera, tackling the often-forgotten history of the March on Washington that led to Martin Luther King, Jr's legendary speech. He talked to David Poland about his work.
