Welcome to our adventure to Memphis and Nashville. My mom has always dreamed of going to Graceland the home of Elvis Presley. We recently took her on a road trip to Graceland and surprised her with a side excursion to Nashville to visit the Grand Ole Opry.

In Memphis we visited Graceland and did the VIP tour of the mansion. I would say It's never been a bucket list item for me, but we had a great time. Learning a little more about Elvis was well worth the trip. We left Memphis and headed straight to Nashville where we visited Broadway street for lunch. Walking along Broadway is not necessarily for those who prefer solitude but it was neat experience listening to all of the aspiring musicians.

Venturing a block or two off Broadway we visited the Johnny Cash museum. I can't say I would do this one again as the price was pretty steep for what it is, but again it was very interesting getting a sneak peak into the background and life of Johnny and June Cash.

After leaving the museum turned in for the evening. The next day we took in a Country Classics show at the Grand Ole Opry. I think this actually turned out to be the highlight of the trip. We enjoyed artist such as Mandy Barnett (who has portrayed Patsy Cline for over 20 years in the musical "Always...Patsy Cline", The Gatlin Brothers, Chapel Hart, Carleen Carter, and Pam Tillis! It was an amazing show and this I would definitely do again!!

If you ever get the chance we do recommend Graceland and the Grand Ole Opry. Even if your exactly a country and western fan....you will still find interest in these venues.

Thanks for coming along!!!
