I am replacing a leaking hot water heaters pressure temperature relief valve. I first verified that the tank itself is not leaking and waters coming out of the relief valve. Before this video I check the pressure of water at the tank. The house’s water pressure was 65 psi. Therefore I first drain down the water heater. Next pay remove the relief valves pipe to send water to floor. After that I remove the relief valve. Next I put Teflon tape sealant on the relief valve threads once I install the new relief valve. I refill the water heater. Finally I turn the water heater back on wash it run and make sure no more water leaks out.
