There's one new #iOS17 feature coming that perhaps you don't know about yet. It's one that Apple neglected to mention at all in its WWDC 2023 keynote, and one that potentially bulldozes a hole right through the iPhone's walled garden.
Sometime during the lifespan of iOS 17, #sideloading and alternative app stores will come to the iPhone. Apple doesn't want to do this, but if it wants to keep selling iPhones, it's gonna have to. It's a big, huge deal that's been a LONG time coming, with a fascinating backstory involving greed, billionaire back-biting and some of the biggest apps around.
