Collecting rainwater is easy and simple. Make sure you have a screen on the rain gutters to filter out leaves and debris, flush the water for first 5 to 10 min and then start collecting rain water in the tank. The water outlet from the tank does not have any pressure, so to use rainwater from the tank for drip irrigation, use a diaphragm pump to build pressure when you turn on the valve. This way you can efficiently water your garden with rainwater. To prevent mosquitoes in rainwater or rain barrel, add a little bit of Spinosad in the rain barrel.
