   • How to make Capirotada ( Mom )  

Serve 10-15 people
6 c Milk
1- 1 1/2 Sugar
1 Cinnamon stick
6 Bolillo
Dried fruit of choice (raisins, figs, pineapple, plums)
1 can Condensed milk
2 tbsp Corn Starch
Spinkles
Cactus Candy (optional)
Cotija cheese (optional)


Boil milk with sugar, 1 cinnamon sticks, 1/2 c shredded coconut.
Separate 1/2 cup of the sugar mix in a cup and add 2 tbsp of corn starch to it and mix to dissolve
And add it to the milk mix.
Bring to boil, lower heat and let it simmer for 15 mins. Mix occasionally.
Cut your bolillo into small pieces.
In a large baking pan, place on layer of bolillo slices.
Sprinkles some coconut and add some dried fruit.
Once the milk mix has simmered for some time and it has thicker a little bit, add
Some to the first layer of bolillo until the bread is soaked.
Add a second later of the bolillo and repeat the above steps.
Add chucks of cotija cheese and visnaga (cactus candy)
Cover with aluminum foil.
Place in oven for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
