Almost from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, Marinka, a small town in the Donetsk region, has been at the epicenter of fierce fighting. The Russians have been storming in and retreating, but eventually managed to gain a foothold in part of the town. Ukrainian paratroopers continue to hold Marinka. In the town, fierce battles occur not just for every house - sometimes even for every story of a building, as the fighters of the Air Assault Brigade say.
Entry to the city itself is restricted for security reasons.
hromadske visited the positions of the 79th Air Assault Brigade, which recently took part in the battles inside the town. Some of them prefer not to recall how it was - to repel Russian attacks in Marinka.
