Sources tell me that Ram plans to drop the Hemi in 2023. The 5.7 & 6.2 Hemi V8 are on the chopping block across Jeep & Dodge as well.

Ram will introduce the future of the brand at CES 2023 in January. Stellantis is taking all the brands small displacement and are starting to drop the Hemi out across Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler. Jeep has sneakily dropped the 5.7 V8 out of the 2 row Grand Cherokee and only leaves you with getting it in the most expensive trim in the 3rd row version. Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer drops its 5.7 and 6.4 V8 out of most trims as well replacing them with inline 6 Hurricane engines. Stellantis has confirmed that Hurricanes will be the primary engine of STLA Large and Frame vehicles. While the Pentastar V8 is getting an upgrade next year, Hemi V8 production is being dropped.

Is new emissions mandates causing Stellantis to drop Hemi's out of the lineup sooner than planned? Both CEO Tim Kuniskis and Mike Koval of Dodge and Ram said that current vehicles would be extended past 2024 but now all signs point to them losing their V8's by the end of 2023. Will Hurricanes be forced into the most popular trims? Will Ram only put Hemi engines in the most expensive trims? Will the Ram HD trucks keep their 6.4 Hemi? Will the 2024 Ram be all electric?
