This video was recorded in September 2023 when baby Jeff was 9 months old. If you follow the channel, you may have seen some clips which have been used in other videos previously, but I thought I would bring all the best clips together in this longer video for you to enjoy! it certainly was a pleasure to film these beautiful interactions between these two siblings on a warm sunny day at the wonderful Chester Zoo

Stevie has always had a close bond with her baby brother and has helped mum ZeeZee care for the baby chimp since he was born, Stevie was often seen in the first weeks after Baby Jeff was born carrying him around chimp island Experience mum ZeeZee was happy to let Stevie have some responsibility with raising the baby brother and in doing so has been helping Stevie gain experience of motherhood for if she becomes a mother herself. This strong family relationship is especially amongst chimpanzees and how they teach young chimps much needed skill to raise families of their own

6:35 - Stevie quickly returns and carries Baby Jeff off indoors
7:05 - Sally arrives to take Jeff back to the family group
7:31 - Stevie is distracted by foraging in a tree
7:47 - Baby Chimp Jeff is back with the bigger family group
8:20 - Sally takes care and charge of Jeff

There are currently as of 2023, 20 chimps in 2 separate chimp groups at Chester Zoo consisting of 7 Males and 13 Females The oldest is Boris at 56 years old Born 1966 and the youngest is Jeff who was Born in December 2022

Most of the chimps at Chester Zoo, have appeared in the popular nature documentary series, shown on TV called The Secret Life Of The Zoo.
This animal documentary series was first aired on TV in 2016 and has run for 10 seasons from 2016 - 2021
