The Toyota Yaris Cross is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota. It belongs to the Yaris family and is designed to offer a blend of versatility, efficiency, and urban-friendly features. As a subcompact crossover, it caters to drivers who seek a practical and maneuverable vehicle for city driving with the added capability to handle light off-road adventures. Put simply, the Yaris Cross is for the people who desire the high-riding qualities of crossovers like the Corolla Cross which preceded it but want a slightly smaller sized vehicle.

The model's creation was undertaken by Daihatsu in collaboration with Toyota, forming a joint internal entity named Emerging-market Compact Car Company (ECC). The project was overseen by chief engineer Toru Uda. It is built upon the DNGA-B platform, sharing its underpinnings with the AC100 series Vios/Yaris sedan.
