That's right; once you get Ginger started you now have a life time supply.
Every year when it dies back simply snap off a few good bits of the Ginger root and go ahead and replant your bits in pots about 2 to 3 inches deep.
Then keep your ginger starts indoors and then (depending where you live) in early March you should be able to put your starts in the ground or a good sized pot for that coming growing season.
Then at the end of the season simply repeat the process and there you are with Free Ginger year over year.
