This is the Polestar O2 Concept and we’re getting a first look.


The O2 is a 2 seater, convertible or spider and it looks pretty cool.

The lines are sharp modern but classic at the same time.

The wheels look requisitely concept large, of course. The wrap-around windshield looks great and I’ll assume that’s is a retractable hardtop.


The interior looks like a decidedly normal car these days.

I’ve even spied a shifter that looks as if it might be from the VW ID.4. Interesting. It gets a tablet-sized touchscreen, as well.

The interior is made from a thermoplastic “mono-material” for the hard surfaces, which is 100% sustainable.

A soft recycled polyester cover the soft touch points.


Polestar tells us the O2 is made from bonded aluminum and will have heightened dynamic response and taut handling dynamics. Certainly, it’s got the short wheelbase to deliver those promises.


The O2 is based on the Polestar 5, which is coming in 2024. This one might be close on its heels.

Something else to watch for close on its heels is a drone. Yes, that’s right the O2 comes with its own drone.

For you social media animals out there, a drone that is integrated behind the rear seats will deploy while you’re driving and capture wicked shots of you driving on the 405 in gridlock traffic. Or on a perfect beach road. I am going to steer clear of you when you’re taking your driving selfie though, thanks.


We expect there will be more to hear about this one because Polestar plans to produce three cars over the next three years starting in 2022. I think this should be one of them. I’d drive it. Stay tuned.
