In 2016, Scotland based Zara Mohammed became the first ever female president of FOSIS - the Federation of Student Islamic Societies - which has been operating as an umbrella organisation for Muslim student societies on University campuses since 1963, and has hosted the likes of Malcolm X.

After years serving her own University Islamic Society as Deputy President, Zara continued to take on national positions within FOSIS and eventually found herself at the head of an organisation responsible for over 100,000 Muslim students in the UK and Ireland.

In this video, Zara shares some of the key lessons from her time as President and how her spirituality formed some of her key decisions and shaped her values.
