I've never played any 8-bit Sonic games, but they sure do have amazing soundtracks, and this one is a classic. I combined channels in both the melody and bass for a fuller, slightly more reverb feel, and also added a B section to help maintain interest since this song is otherwise only about a 25 second loop. It's probably the closest thing to a remix I have on this channel.
